Yarrow is quite a bitter herb so it is best combined with other teas. Mix with chamomile or meadowsweet for digestive upsets. A traditional mixture for feverish colds and upper respiratory catarrh includes about 20% yarrow mixed with 40% elderflower and 40%peppermint.
Directions for Use
Half to one teaspoon to one cup of boiling water. Brew for 10 minutes, strain and drink up to three times daily.
Precautions
Avoid during pregnancy and breast-feeding. May cause photosensitivity in high doses. Some cases of sensitivity to yarrow have been reported. Avoid if taking anticoagulant therapy such as warfarin.
Notes on the Herb
This herb is helpful in feverish colds, hay fever, poor appetite and indigestion. It can help improve circulation and lower blood pressure in some cases. Suitable for children.
